#LUCELAB : THE GIRL

Explore the heart of the workshops and get to know the people who bring them to life.

Here we are at the last stop of LUCE LAB SS25 — a visual and narrative journey discovering ateliers, homes, ideas, and people who, with authenticity and passion, transform the ordinary into something unique. Each stop is an invitation to enter a living space where creativity takes shape through hands, thoughts, and everyday details.

With LUCE LAB, fashion becomes a voice, a symbol, and a declaration of identity. A journey that centers the creative space as a place of deep connection between aesthetics and intuition, where what we wear every day reflects who we are and what we want to convey.

But back to us…

In this episode, we take you into the colorful and playful world of Cristina, the heart and founder of LA TUSA.

Cristina - from LA TUSA - wears the MARGOT leaf orange t-shirt;

“La Tusa means “girl” in Milanese dialect” - Cristina chose to give her brand a name that was primarily a memory. La Tusa was the nickname her grandfather called her as a child: an affectionate word that holds a family bond and a precise identity. That's where the entire project took shape. Today, it is a creative space that tells of a free, pop, playful femininity. Here, the simplest geometric shapes become small colorful jewels to wear. The workshop is also open as a welcoming, shared shop. Children stop by, curious, attracted by the modeling clay Cristina works with every day. They pick up scraps from a large jar, feeling part of the game in an artisanal and spontaneous environment.

“I have always loved the power of images as a form of communication” - For Cristina, every piece of jewelry is an image that speaks. Her creations do not only convey aesthetics but emotions, intuitions, moments. Like silent frames, they are able to say something without words. In her creative process, form is the starting point. Order emerges over time, combining elements with harmony and curiosity. Everything stems from a gesture, from a composition tried and then adjusted, from a visual intuition. The relationship with clients is fundamental: each one can personalize a model, which often takes its name. It is a continuous dialogue, where each creation also becomes a shared story.

Cristina - from LA TUSA - wears the ANCILLA brown flower dress;

“Color cannot be missing” - Color, texture, and lightness are the beating heart of La Tusa. Cristina’s jewelry celebrates the most instinctive and vibrant side of creativity. Even in personal style, color is essential: reassuring, expressive, present. The clothes she wears, like her creations, tell who she is: flowy, comfortable, lively. Her taste moves between patterns, contrasts, and small aesthetic provocations. Everything is designed to communicate joy, to make room for irony, to break the rules of the ordinary.

“The moment I wear one of my creations is always an emotional one, because I never know 100% how it will turn out” - Each piece is made entirely by hand, through a process of time, patience, and care. Shaping, baking, polishing with an old pair of jeans (yes, you heard that right, with jeans!): the transformation happens in phases, each with its surprises and discoveries. Cristina works with simplicity and method, but never losing the sense of play. Creation is also a moment of wonder, where what is imagined takes shape… but never in a completely predictable way.

In the world of La Tusa Studio, every piece of jewelry is a small act of freedom. An invitation to rediscover the value of simple things, to dress with lightness, and to bring a little color and pop into our days.
