In this episode, we invite you to step into the floral world of Jessica, founder of Olivia Brusca, a project born from the heart and grown into a spontaneous intertwining of passions.
“My name is Jessica, but my brand is Olivia Brusca” - The name already tells a story: Olivia is the affectionate nickname given for her resemblance to Popeye's wife during her childhood, while Brusca — as they say in her region of Emilia — refers to that direct, unfiltered character. From a simple flower shop, over time a true "creative jar" was born, a place that welcomes all the things Jessica loves, starting with flowers but opening up to continuous contaminations. Today, this place finds its base right inside Jessica's home, an intimate space where hospitality and work merge. Here, every encounter with clients becomes a moment of exchange, every floral arrangement is born from an inspiration: a vintage object, a phrase read on the fly, a song or a newspaper article.
“For me, anything can be an input to start a process” - Research is fundamental: it starts with an intuition, discussion, studying a palette, looking for natural and seasonal materials, with an approach that prioritizes sustainability and spontaneous beauty. In her floral projects, Jessica loves to mix flowers, fresh fruit, and vegetables, leveraging their internal water reserve to create living and surprising centerpieces — like the one imagined for a simple lunch with friends, full of colors, flavors, and nature during our chat.
“I’ve never been the typical florist with an apron” - Her personal style reflects this philosophy: no uniforms, no constraints. Jessica chooses clothes that speak to her, comfortable yet stylish, able to accompany her both during work and in moments of relaxation. For this occasion, she chose the MABELLA orient blue shirt with its lively pattern and light fabric, perfect for reflecting her free and joyful spirit. She also chose the METELDA and PALOMA geometric acqua set, whose colors harmonize with the shades present in her floral arrangements, thus becoming an extension of her creative palette.
