#MUSE : Letizia Dei Fiori

Letizia, in her corner of Paradise, wears our "Buongiorno Splendore" SWEATSHIRT. (You can find it here).

Her favorite flower is the garden rose, delicate, gentle, romantic but at the same time wild. Two contrasting characteristics that describe her. She is Letizia, artistically known as Letizia dei fiori. A florist by adoption in Milan. In her veranda, surrounded by a riot of colors, Letizia creates wonderful arrangements that fill the heart and eyes with joy.

Hi Letizia, tell us about yourself.
Hi Luce, I'm Letizia dei Fiori and I'm a freelance florist. Born in Salerno and raised in Trentino, after numerous experiences and travels abroad, I arrived in Milan 8 years ago. My workshop is inside my home. It's where I create all my works, from floral arrangements to event staging projects.

Tell us about your artistic name.
Letizia is my name, I love it and it means joy, cheerfulness, happiness, concepts that fit well with the theme of flowers. When I started this activity I had to find an "artistic" name. It was easy because the people who knew me called me Letizia and specified "the one with the flowers." From there, "Letizia dei Fiori" was spontaneous and simple... and between us, it sounds good too!

How and when did this passion arise?
Since childhood, but this passion of mine was put aside for a long time. Then, as I grew up, I was dissatisfied; I felt that something in my professional life had to change. A chance encounter led me to meet florists, and I started creating floral arrangements and bouquets as a self-taught artist. Only then did I realize how happy this activity made me. So I decided to turn my life around, and "Letizia dei Fiori" was born.

What kind of flowers do you use?
Most of the time, I use dried or preserved flowers, but not exclusively. I often use fresh flowers or flowers that I dry myself. This primarily stems from a practical need. Fresh, cut flowers, unfortunately, cannot be stored for long, and not having a storefront, I thus avoid potential waste. I love fresh flowers because they educate us about beauty. Accustoming our eyes to beautiful things makes us feel good internally. All flowers are like that. They make you feel good when you look at them and consequently make your soul feel good.
Furthermore, I can give fresh flowers a new life. It's beautiful to see, once dried, how their color, texture, and shape change, becoming something else. I like to think that my arrangements and ideas last over time.

Which flower best represents you?
I would say the garden rose, a flower I really like and that I believe represents me. It's very romantic, with a gentle character and delicate bearing, yet at the same time, it also has a wilder, thornier side!

And your floral creation?
Definitely floral accessories, created with dried and preserved flowers. I like to work on details, so small and very elaborate creations are my favorites. Like small clips, headbands, or hair accessories, for example.

What are the strengths of your project?
In everything I do, there's a lot of my personality. I draw inspiration from my daily life. For this reason, I believe that the strength of my project is its recognizability; my work is closely connected with my person. Everything related to what surrounds me, what I like, what my interests are, finds a way to be represented in what I create with flowers.

What did you dream of as a child?
As a child, I dreamed of being a rhythmic gymnast, with ribbons and skates. Not being very athletic, it remained just... a pipe dream!

What is your Life Motto?
I don't have a specific motto, but as I've grown, I've learned about myself and I'm sure that when you have a dream or a goal, perseverance, determination, and audacity pay off.
