Welcome back to the third episode of #PEOPLE. A space where we meet women who tell their stories through what they do, what they love, and the passions that drive them every day.
This time we're with Veronica, founder of LIL Milan, and yes: get ready, because there's a lot of LIGHT here!
With her, we talked about jewelry, insights, and ideas. Veronica was born in Milan, still lives in her city, and built her brand right here. With a degree in economics, she approached the world of jewelry after discovering some gold working techniques up close that captivated her, leading to the creation of LIL Milan in 2014.
It all started from a very simple desire: to create the jewelry she herself couldn't find. Light, essential pieces to put on in the morning and almost forget you're wearing until evening. "Second skin" jewelry, designed to always accompany you, without weighing you down.
For Veronica, however, a piece of jewelry is never just a piece of jewelry. It's a memory, a bond, a small piece of life you can carry with you. The most special? A vintage watch received from her grandfather, which belonged to her grandmother whom she never knew. Among those she designed, there's BABY, the pendant created for the birth of her first daughter Matilda. For her second daughter, she created MINIME, a mini doll with three diamonds, two on the feet and one on the head: "Because you always need brilliant ideas, but also to remember to take small steps and enjoy every single victory."
A mother, entrepreneur, and creative, Veronica told us about a very real femininity. The kind that emerges when all her parts can coexist: the mother, the entrepreneur, the creative. Without having to choose just one version of herself. And perhaps that's also why LIL's jewelry speaks so much of lightness. It shouldn't cover who you are, it shouldn't "do too much." It should accompany you, be with you, tell a story without shouting it.
When we asked her what LIGHT means to her, Veronica told us this: "I light up when I try to motivate someone to take a step they feel is difficult, when I try to give strength, new ideas. I light up when I run to my team and say: girls, let's do this!"
So, her LIGHT is exactly this: enthusiasm, passion, fervor. That spark that comes when you believe in an idea, when you have people around you who push you to take one more step, and when you realize that even the most precious things can be light, everyday, yours.
